Aluminium Residential Doors
Powder-Coated Aluminium
Our range of aluminium doors is made using powder-coated aluminium profiles from our long-standing extruder, Smart Systems. Powder coating involves applying dry powder to the aluminium, which is then cured under heat to create a uniform finish. This coating acts as a protective barrier against harsh weather conditions, significantly prolonging the lifespan of our doors.
Polyamide Thermal Break
To enhance thermal efficiency, our aluminium doors incorporate a polyamide thermal break. This non-conductive material is placed between the inner and outer sections of the aluminium frame, effectively reducing thermal transmittance and improving energy efficiency.
Corner Bonds
Aluminium doors aren’t typically welded in the traditional sense used for uPVC. Instead, the assembly and joining method for our aluminium double glazing involves precision machining, where the profile is cut to size, following advanced bonding techniques that include the use of high-strength adhesives.
External Square Sash
Our square sash provides a sleek and contemporary aesthetic, moving away from the more dated round sash. This change not only modernises the look but also blends seamlessly with various architectural styles, making it a versatile choice for any setting.
122mm Sightlines
The sightlines of only 122mm, create large, uninterrupted openings. This feature maximises the amount of natural light that can enter a space and provides a more expansive view. The slim profile provides a more elegant connection between indoor and outdoor environments.
Internal Frame Detail
The internal frame and sashes of our residential doors are square, contributing to a contemporary and clean-lined look that can harmonise with any interior design. The internal frame can match the outside or choose white for a stylish and sophisticated appearance that complements various interior décor styles.
Multi-point Locking Mechanism
Security is our top priority, and our standard 5-point locking mechanism offers unparalleled protection. Accredited for its strength and reliability, this high-security system helps your home remains secure, giving you peace of mind. The multi-point locks secure your doors at several points, making them highly resistant to forced entry.
Black Hinges
The hinges on our aluminium residential doors are always black to match seamlessly with the black gaskets. By maintaining this consistent colour scheme, every detail of our aluminium doors effortlessly contributes to an elegant and cohesive finish, making them an excellent choice for any home.
Trickle Vent
Building regulations state that trickle vents are required on most glazing elements. These discreet vents allow a controlled amount of fresh air to flow into the home, promoting ventilation without compromising security or aesthetics. By permitting a steady exchange of air, trickle vents can help maintain a healthier living environment.
Threshold Options
Opting for a low threshold enhances accessibility and comfort, making it a practical choice for any home. Low thresholds are designed to minimise the step-over height between indoor and outdoor spaces, providing easy access and a seamless transition inside and outside.

Our aluminium doors come with a variety of sill options to meet the functional needs of the opening.

Glazing Options
Double Glazing
Our aluminium residential doors are equipped with double glazing as standard, designed to improve energy efficiency, especially compared to old single glazed units. We use 28mm double glazing units that incorporate a warm edge spacer bar, made from extruded PVC material. This is specifically intended to minimise heat transference between the panes of glass, retaining more heat within the property. The glazing consists of 4mm toughened glass for added durability as well as 4mm clear Low E toughened glass, which improves thermal performance by reflecting heat back into the home.
Triple Glazing
Our aluminium front doors are available with the option of triple glazing, offering superior thermal insulation and enhanced noise reduction. Triple glazing consists of three panes of glass separated by two air or argon gas-filled spaces, which can significantly improve energy efficiency by reducing heat loss and maintaining a consistent indoor temperature.
Spacer Bars
Spacer bars are placed around the perimeter of the glass panes to provide essential structural support and maintain consistent spacing between the panes. Choose from our selection of three distinct bar finishes to complement your door’s aesthetic and enhance its overall appeal.

Laminated Glass
Enhance the safety and security of your aluminium residential door by upgrading to laminated glass. Laminated glass provides substantial safety benefits due to its unique construction that includes a robust interlayer designed to hold shattered glass in place. In the event of breakage, this interlayer ensures that the glass remains intact, significantly reducing the risk of injury from sharp fragments.
Venetian Integral Blinds
Venetian integral blinds are an innovative and stylish solution for modern homes, offering a sleek, low-maintenance alternative to traditional window coverings. Encased within the door’s glazing, these blinds are protected from dust, damage, and daily wear and tear. Our Venetian integral blinds come in a variety of 10 different colours to complement your chosen frame finish. Please note that the operational device will always be positioned on the right-hand side (viewed internally).

Weatherproofing
Our aluminium residential doors are designed with exceptional weatherproof properties. The perimeter seals are meticulously engineered to prevent draughts, effectively keeping cold air from entering the home and maintaining a consistent indoor temperature. The inherent waterproof nature of aluminium further enhances these doors’ resilience. Homeowners can enjoy long term protection from the UK’s unpredictable weather.
Thermal Efficiency
These Smart Systems aluminium doors achieve impressively low U-values and excellent energy ratings through innovative design features aimed at enhancing thermal efficiency. A polyamide thermal break within the aluminium frame, effectively minimises heat transfer and cold bridging. This thermal break acts as a barrier, improving the doors’ insulation properties and contributing to reduced energy consumption and potentially lower heating costs for homeowners.
Security
Our aluminium residential doors are manufactured to prioritise both aesthetics and security, featuring multi-point locking systems as a standard feature. These doors are equipped with high-security cylinders that are specifically designed to withstand modern burglary techniques, offering homeowners peace of mind knowing their property is well-secured.
