Aluminium French Doors
Powder-Coated Aluminium
Our range of aluminium doors is made using powder-coated aluminium profiles from our long-standing extruder, Smart Systems. Powder coating involves applying dry powder to the aluminium, which is then cured under heat to create a uniform finish. This coating acts as a protective barrier against harsh weather conditions, significantly prolonging the lifespan of our doors.
Polyamide Thermal Break
To enhance thermal efficiency, our aluminium doors incorporate a polyamide thermal break. This non-conductive material is placed between the inner and outer sections of the aluminium frame, effectively reducing thermal transmittance and improving energy efficiency.
Corner Bonds
Aluminium doors aren’t typically welded in the traditional sense used for uPVC. Instead, the assembly and joining method for our aluminium double glazing involves precision machining, where the profile is cut to size, following advanced bonding techniques that include the use of high-strength adhesives.
External Square Sash
We offer a stunning modern square sash design for our aluminium French doors, reflecting a shift towards sleek, contemporary aesthetics. By choosing to discontinue the more dated round sash, we’ve embraced a style that better complements modern architecture and interior design. The square sash not only delivers a sharper, more defined look but also adds a touch of sophistication and minimalism to any space.
122mm Sightlines
The sightlines of only 122mm, create large, uninterrupted door openings. This feature maximises the amount of natural light that can enter a space and provides a more expansive view. The slim profile provides a more elegant connection between indoor and outdoor environments.
Multi-point Locking Mechanism
Our aluminium French doors are equipped with a standard 5-point locking mechanism, providing exceptional strength and security. This advanced locking system features five key locking points strategically placed along the door frame, which significantly reduces the risk of forced entry. Accredited with a high-security status, this mechanism meets rigorous safety standards, offering homeowners enhanced protection and peace of mind.
Trickle Vent
Building Regulations state that trickle vents are required on virtually all windows and doors. These vents are designed to allow a consistent flow of air even when the windows are closed, helping to improve indoor air quality and reduce condensation. By ensuring a continuous exchange of indoor and outdoor air, trickle vents contribute to a healthier living environment. Displayed is our flush fitting trickle vent.
Threshold Options
Opting for a low threshold enhances accessibility and comfort, making it a practical choice for any home. Low thresholds are designed to minimise the step-over height between indoor and outdoor spaces, providing easy access and a seamless transition inside and outside.
Sill Options
Our aluminium French doors come with a variety of sill options to meet the functional needs of the opening.

Glazing Options
Double Glazing
As with our other doors made from the same material, our aluminium French doors come with 28mm double glazing as standard. Included in the glazed unit you will find a warm edge spacer bar and within the pocket you’ll find argon gas. The glass used in our aluminium French doors is comprised of 4mm clear toughened glass and 4mm clear Low E toughened glass.
Triple Glazing
Triple glazing is made up of three panes of glass with argon gas within each of the two pockets. Triple glazing work in the same way as double glazing although with triple glazing you get an extra pane of glass and an extra insulation barrier. The extra pane of glass offers better insulation values. Triple glazing is popular in the Nordic countries where temperatures reach well below 0.
Spacer Bars
Spacer bars are positioned around the perimeter of the glass panes to offer structural reinforcement and ensure consistent spacing between the panes. Choose from our range of three finishes, each designed to complement and elevate its overall appeal.

Laminated Glass
Laminated glass consists of two or more glass layers bonded together with a durable interlayer, which holds the glass in place even when shattered. This feature not only reduces the risk of injury from broken glass but also provides added protection against break-ins.
Venetian Integral Blinds
Our Venetian integral blinds come in a variety of 10 different colours to complement your chosen frame finish. Integral blinds are available on our complete product range excluding bespoke shapes. Please note that the operational device will always be positioned on the right-hand side (viewed internally).

Weatherproofing
Our aluminium French doors incorporate the latest weatherproof innovations as standard for maximum durability and protection against the elements. Equipped with advanced perimeter seals, these doors can effectively keep out the worst of the infamous British weather conditions. They have undergone rigorous testing in extreme environments and have proven their ability to withstand UK standards.
Thermal Efficiency
Our aluminium French doors offer fantastic thermal insulation as standard, providing optimal energy efficiency. The aluminium profile is designed with a polyamide thermal break, which effectively disrupts the transfer of heat and cold between the interior and exterior. This allows homeowners to enjoy U-values as low as 1.3 W/m²K, potentially contributing to a more comfortable living environment and reduced energy costs.
Security
Our aluminium French doors are designed to be robust and resilient, often offering a lifespan measured in decades rather than years, allowing homeowners to enjoy long-term peace of mind. These double doors are equipped with the most secure locking systems available and can be further enhanced with a comprehensive security upgrade that meets PAS 24 requirements.
Manufacturing Guarantee
Our aluminium French doors come with a manufacturing guarantee of up to ten years. This guarantee reflects our confidence in the durability and quality of our doors, providing homeowners with peace of mind. However, with the right maintenance, these doors can offer decades of use beyond the guaranteed period. Their inherent strength, coupled with the low-maintenance nature of aluminium, helps the doors remain functional and aesthetically pleasing for many years.
