If your uPVC sliding sash windows move slightly up and down when locked, this is typically due to necessary design tolerances rather than a fault. When locking the window, the lower seal compresses slightly, temporarily exaggerating the gap at the head of the sash. However, once the force is removed, the sashes naturally centralise, correcting the gap. This movement is completely normal and designed to prevent operational issues. If the movement seems excessive, checking the locks and balances may help optimise performance.
